"Journey to Atlantis" - Ocean Geographic
I have always wondered what the ocean was like 50 years ago, back when world population was just 3 billion - before the exploitation of commercial fisheries, before factory ships, before the birth of ego centric, gizmo centric sport fishers - the ocean surely must have been very different. I imagined walls sharks, rays, tunas swirling among zillions of groupers, snappers and jacks, as far as the eye can see. As I had fallen in love with the ocean only in the late eighties, I was twenty years too late. Going back in time, was a dream…until recently.
